I MADE BREAD!

I've been kind of on a quest to make awesome bread ever since I first made Pizza Crust. I was fascinated with the fact that it actually ROSE and behaved like it was supposed to and then tasted so good! :D

And I made a Rye ROCK.

Then a really dense Rye bread that didn't really rise, but we ate it anyway and it tasted good but wasn't really like.. BREAD like.

Then a really dense Sourdough bread that didn't really rise but we ate anyway, yadda yadda.

But yesterday, I made REAL BREAD. It turned out SO PERFECT. :D I checked out this book from the library that I wanted to buy but was really expensive, and they had it at the library so HURRAH! :D The Bread Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum. Apparently she has authored a few different "bibles" such as a Cake Bible and whatever else I'm not sure.

Anyway, the instructions are so amazingly detailed and wonderful, and the technique so researched and perfected, I even messed up a little bit and it still came out amazing! WOOHOO!!! I'm so excited!! I will definitely be trying some more different kinds. :D And making this one again. We had one of the two small loaves I made for dinner last night, and will have the other one tomorrow night. :D

WHO AM I???

I'm a runner, swimmer, weight lifter, bread baker, chef, all these things that I never really considered myself to be except I did kind of think I was a good cook before... but never baked bread! :D I feel so empowered since tackling my health to take on all kinds of things I've wanted to do but never done.

Maybe I will start fermenting things like girlreinvented. ;) They make this AMAZING Cucumber thing at this restaurant in Huntsville, AL called Bento Box. SO GOOD. I got it probably the last two times we went. MMMMMMMMMMM.

I haven't posted a quiz result in ages but this is funny... :)

I would like to state for the record that I am soooooooo ticked about the results of this cycle of ANTM

If you're worried about spoilers, look away now.

I'm not making a cut because I figure anyone who actually cares about watching the show would have seen it by now anyway. HAHAHAHA :D

They picked Whitney, a plus size model, as ANTM. Now here's the thing -- I'm not mad that there's a plus size winner. If she was actually better than all the other models, that would have been awesome.

BUT. She is not that great... I'm not gonna say she SUCKS, but... not good.

There was a truly deserving model on that show -- I really believe she will be able to get modeling work in the real world, which is not something I can say for every contestant on the show. She looks amazing just walking around, has a great runway walk (although she kinda didn't do her best in the final runway I WILL admit that), and takes the most amazing photographs. She's a total natural. She has a genuine and sweet personality and great energy about her.

It is completely UNFAIR that someone who is a lesser model BEAT her because someone in the ANTM staff had a determination to crown a plus size winner.

If she had not been plus size, she would have been sent home already based on the poor quality of her work. She was in the bottom two SEVERAL times and on most of those occasions, she should have been sent home and not the other person. Any number of times, they could have sent her home.

Why is it that ANTM has THE worst judgement out of all the top model varieties around the world? Whenever I watch the British Version, Australian Version, German Version, Canadian Version -- it always seems that the girl who SHOULD win, DOES. Even if it's not the girl I personally like, I can understand the rationale.

THIS however, is a complete and total travesty.

BUT. I know it is. And I still watch it... because I still like to see the photoshoots and the casting calls and all that stuff. :) I will watch pretty much any show about modeling/fashion. HAHAHA.

So I know it's been forever since I posted but I just found this picture of me on the left today.... and I can't believe that was me. The right side is me basically NOW. That picture was taken 4/5/08. Same house, same hostess, two parties, a year in between and a COMPLETE life change.

I'm so sad that Heath Ledger is dead. :(

I found out last night, and it's weird. I've never been so affected by a celebrity's death before. I guess anyone else I found out they died before I found out about them... or I just wasn't really into them at all...

But Heath Ledger was an actor that I was really looking forward to seeing what he was going to make of his career -- he seemed like the type of actor that would be able to transition and continue to work interesting roles as he continued aging. Even though he has in the past played the kind of "Heartthrob" role in a couple of movies, he did not get stuck in those kind of roles.

I'm really happy that he finished filming The Dark Knight, but as I was just commenting on a friend's post, I'm not sure how I will feel watching him act as a crazy person knowing that he died soon after from as of yet (as far as I know) unknown causes. :(

Hmmmmmmmm..................... I will have to say Silverchair. :) hehehe. Close neighbors being Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots. I'm not sure which band I heard first and I started liking them all around the same time in middle school.

I mean, yeah, I loved the Beatles growing up, who doesn't? But the first band that I felt like I REALLY liked ON MY OWN was Silverchair.

I have BANGS again.

Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. will offer next-generation DVDs in the HD DVD format and drop support for Blu-ray, further complicating the race between the competing technologies.

Any thoughts? We have a PS3, so I'm rooting for Blu-Ray obviously.
